Armed with childhood memories of pinwheel toys and windmills of his homeland Holland, Leon van den Eijkl has created these giant colourful pinwheels.  Known for his use of bright primary colours, these pinwheels spin in proximity to Hobsonville primary school. Perhaps inspiring children just as van den Eijkel was inspired by these simple spinning toys as a child.

Part of the Didsbury Arts Trail, The Playing Windmills stand at the Corner de Havilland and Wallace Roads, Hobsonville Point, Auckland, New Zeland.
