This eight metre tall sculpture is a memorial to first and seconf Maori Kings; King Tawhiao and King Potatau.  It stands directly across the road from the current Maori King’s office inthe town of  Ngaruawahia in the Waikato District.

The sculpture features a large stainless steel moko (traditional Maori facial tattoo), with a cloak carved from sandstone gathered below the neck.

The sculpture was created by master carver Inia Te Wiata.

This sculpture can be found in Octagon Park, Ngaruawahia, Waikato District.
