This sculpture commemorates and celebrates the life of, Auckland counsellor and advocate for woman Ellen Melville.  It specially references 37 year long legal career.

Made up of a bronze relief form of the scales of justice sitting atop a 1950s style painted façade, it was commissioned as part of the refurbishment of the Ellen Melville centre in 2017.

This sculpture rests on an outer wall of the Ellen Melville Centre in Freyberg Place, Central Auckland, New Zealand.
